EcoLogo helps you identify, trust, buy, and sell environmentally preferable
(“green”) goods and services. On this website, you’ll find more than 7,000
EcoLogo-certified products from hundreds of manufacturers.
Launched by the Canadian federal government in 1988, EcoLogo has grown to
serve buyers and sellers of green products throughout the United States and Canada,
and around the world. In fact, EcoLogo is North America’s oldest environmental
standard and certification organization (and the second oldest in the world).
It is the only North American standard approved by the Global Ecolabeling Network
as meeting the international ISO 14024 standard for environmental labels.

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that
oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program. As an ANSI Authorized Standards Developer,
GEI establishes acceptable indoor air standards for indoor products, environments, and buildings.
GEI’s mission is to improve public health and quality of life through programs that improve indoor air.
A GEI Advisory Board consisting of independent volunteers, who are renowned experts in the areas of indoor
air quality, public and environmental health, building design and construction, and public policy, provides
guidance and leadership to GEI.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™
encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development
practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools
and performance criteria.

EPEAT is a system to help purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare and select
desktop computers, notebooks and monitors based on their environmental attributes. EPEAT also provides
a clear and consistent set of performance criteria for the design of products, and provides an opportunity
for manufacturers to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products.

The Chlorine Free Products Association(CFPA) is an independent not-for-profit accreditation &
standard setting organization. Our focus is promoting sustainable manufacturing practices, implementing
advanced technologies free of chlorine chemistry, educating consumers on alternatives, and developing world
markets for sustainably produced third party certified products and services. The CFPA has no financial interest
in any manufacturer, or company, of the products it certifies.

The Forestry Stewardship Council sets forth principles, criteria, and standards that span economic, social,
and environmental concerns. The FSC standards represent the world’s strongest system for guiding forest management
toward sustainable outcomes. Like the forestry profession itself, the FSC system includes stakeholders with a diverse
array of perspectives on what represents a well-managed and sustainable forest. While the discussion continues, the FSC
standards for forest management have now been applied in over 57 countries around the world.

STMC stands for the Standardized Test Methods Committee. This global committee formed to find and promote standardized test methods for the printer cartridge industry. The test methods are used to evaluate toner printer cartridge performance. Standardized test methods make it possible to evaluate a cartridge anywhere and come up with the same test results no matter who tests it.. Standardized tests do not specify how a cartridge must perform; they only measure it.
